The previous weekend, the local Sea Scouts in Alexandroupolis spent their first weekend away in Makri. The trip included an in depth understanding of olives and olive oil. Having enjoyed a guided tour of the ancient olive groves of Makri, the Scouts were given the opportunity to collect olives from the trees and then visit Kyklopas Mill to see first-hand how the olives are processed to make olive oil, which is then stored in silos.
Naturally, a Scout trip is not complete without games, laughter, and an exploration of nature and all the other unique experiences that Scouting offers.
