Chronos Newspaper: Olive oil infused with lemon and orange backed by Kyklopas S.A.
Kyklopas olive mill in Makri (Northern Greece) and the namesake company are constantly innovating. “We are not content with our 19 awards, of which 7 are international, we are forever experimenting”, said Argyris Kelidis, who can always be found at the mill, together with his family - wife and daughters - where everyone contributes in their own way and with their own skills to the success of the company. The distinctive smell of olive oil permeates the air, which goes through a whole series of steps to be produced. The place has a unique atmosphere, a homely space, exemplary, where people and machines coexist. In one corner the spouts with golden oil run endlessly, filling olive growers’ containers, who are patiently awaiting their turn.
On the office walls hang the prizes, distinctions, awards, both local and international. Last year the olive mill won two Gold awards in New York, one in Beijing and one in Israel. Other regions in Greece may be well-known for their olive oil, such as the Peloponnese with 27 million olive trees, but with just 180,000 olive trees, Makri grabs all the awards, Mr. Kelidis would say with pride.
