"Extra Virgin olive oil - driving the development of gastronomic tourism "
The last lesson of the 1st semester with Ms Gianna Balafoutis at the Metropolitan College finished off the course in the best way possible. Students from the department of Culinary and Tourism Studies attended a seminar on: "Extra Virgin olive oil - driving the development of gastronomic tourism ". With the outstanding contribution from Mr. Yiannis Karvelas on Thursday, January 24, the students learnt about the best practices in olive oil production, about the position of Greece on the global olive oil production map and legislation in the food industry.
The seminar was concluded with the tasting of olive oils used in professional kitchens - vertical tasting of extra virgin olive oil and tasting of this year’s harvest of extra virgin olive oil. We are delighted to have our olive oil chosen to be among those used in the education of new students!
