Great tatste 2018 for Kyklopas
Kyklopas was honoured with 2 Great Taste Awards, which many people consider the "Oscars” of taste - one Great Taste Award for Kyklopas Early Harvest Olive Oil and another Great Taste Award for Kyklopas naturally-infused olive oil with Basil. The Great Taste Awards take place in the United Kingdom every year. Five hundred judges, who are all demanding flavour and taste specialists, carry out the blind tasting of more than 10,000 products so as to award those who stand out for their taste and originality. We now have the right to place this award on our labels, something that constitutes prestige on a product and is a recognition of high quality.
KYKLOPAS EARLY HARVEST
Table 4: Bright and clear with a brilliant shine, a mild fresh fruit aroma reminiscent of banana and apple. Smooth on the palate with a delicate sweetness and hints of ripe fruit. Well balanced and would go well with a variety of foods.
Table 3: The oil has an inviting clear bright yellow hue with green notes in the nose. It has a buttery texture with vegetable green flavours rather than fruit. It has a well balanced rounded flavour with a peppery sensation.
DRESSING WITH BASIL
Table 6: A beautifully clear green-gold liquor with a bright olive and gentle basil aroma. Some soft fruit is present, followed by a pleasing creaminess on the palate. The basil is very mild, but well sustained and in balance with the delicate oil. We anticipated a more resonant basil flavour but did enjoy the overall delicacy and balance of this oil.
Table 3: An attractive olive oil, golden coloured and with viscosity. There is both basil and grass in the aroma, both of which carry through to the olive oil which in itself is quite light. We think the basil works but sugges using a slightly more peppery oil.
