Makris olive oil is now one of the highest quality olive oils in Greece, with special quality characteristics thanks to its stringent production standards. This variety is extracted exclusively by mechanical means from the fruits of the indigenous variety olive Makris which is cultivated in the area of Alexandroupolis from the western limits of the village Chili to the region of Maroneia.
Makris olive oil is bright yellow-green in colour with medium to high intensity fruity characteristics of banana peel, freshly cut grass, green apple and tomato leaf, according to Alexandros Tokas, Kyklopas professional EVOO taste tester.
