Kyklopas Olive Mill, with its long-standing contribution to education, supports local schools and provides children with the opportunity to connect themselves with our tradition and our land. Kyklopas offered at the 4th Primary School an educational program in collaboration with the teachers and the headmaster, Mrs. Antonia Petridou, with whom we had an excellent collaboration.
This initiative allows students to experience the process of the olive oil production up close, highlighting the cycle of nature and the significance of the olive oil production. Last year, thanks to the initiative and contribution of Kyklopas, we pruned the olive trees in the schoolyard together with the children, giving them the opportunity to experience the pruning process and understand the first important step in production. This year, we continued this experience.
Children from all grades participated in the olive harvest in their schoolyard, and in collaboration with the Kyklopas Olive Mill, they visited the mill in small groups to observe the olive oil extraction process. The completion of the program was special as well. The Kyklopas Olive Mill offered the children the oil produced from the olives of their school in order to distribute it to families in need, reinforcing the concept of social solidarity. Additionally, three bottles were created having a special label with the school's name, which will be used for the students' snacks, allowing them to enjoy their own oil.
Through this valuable contribution from the Kyklopas Olive Mill, the children not only learned about olive oil production but also encountered the values of tradition, collaboration, and social responsibility. The Kyklopas Olive Mill is committed to continuing to support such initiatives, recognizing the importance of education and the relationship between children and their local community.
