Kyklopas was awarded in 2017 by Gastronomos at Zappeion Megaron. Mr Rentoulas, editor in chief of Kathimerini's Gastronomy Publications touched our hearts with his words in the beginning of the event saying that “The producers we met in the border regions are people with perseverance, they have the mental armour of a mythical hero, they work, they produce, they live and struggle like Spartans in Thermopyles. That’s why we organized our event in Evros. If it wasn’t in Evros, then where else? In the award ceremony there were many producers from Evros who were awarded in the past like Mrs Niki Kellidou and Mrs Valia Kellidou, owners of Kyklopas Olive Οil Mill. It’s not an exaggeration to say that they produce one of the best quality extra virgin olive oils in Greece and worldwide. In the ceremony we also met the president of the Hellenic Republic who remembered us in every detail and wanted to know about our progress after her visit in Kyklopas Mill in 2021. We met famous chefs who have already used Kyklopas olive oil in their recipes, like Mr Evaggelou, executive chef in Macedonian Palace and the well-known chef Mr Lefteris Lazarou. Lastly, we saw Mr Stavros Theodorakis and Mr Giorgos Kapoutsidis. We thank you from Evros and we promise that we will keep on doing the best we can!
