Kyklopas started and continues to this day as a strictly family business, operating from and producing olive oil in the coastal Greek village of Makri, near Alexandroupolis.
Being in the midst of olives and olive oil since his childhood, Kyklopas founder, Argyris Kelidis, participated in the process of olive harvesting with his parents, which led him several years later to starting his own business in the industry. ‘Indicative of the influence that the harvesting process had on my father's subsequent journey, is the black and white photo on the five-litre package, depicting him and his parents returning loaded with olives onto the donkey decades ago. That was around the time when my father's desire to create something of his own in the field of olive cultivation was born. In 1982, him and mother, Niki, started Kyklopas olive mill’, explains Kyklopas communication manager, Valia Kelidou.
